December- a quiet month for Home Education
At the end of November, we decided to do ourselves another timetable for the last month of the year. We drew it all up and then everyone promptly got the flu!
Greg started with it. He took Stephanie to see a Gladiators show being filmed in London. She had a brilliant day and came home with a Foam Finger.
Then we all had the lurgy-flu bug- one after another!
I am delighted that the girls both passed their LAMDA exams. I was particularly pleased because they were both working with new disciplines- mime and devised performance- and they had both gone onto a new grade.
Most things have come to an end for Christmas now. The girls had their end of term test for Biology, which they both passed. Stephanie will be taking the IGCSE single award exam in May 2009 and Jacqueline will be doing hers as part of the double science award in November 2009.
The girls finished off their Stagecoach term with the highly entertaining play of “Scrugina”- Christmas Carol with a twist. I will post the photos from that separately.
Guitar and Drums has also come to an end until January.
As my husband Greg has been around much more recently, he has been really pushing the girls forward with their Maths. The further we go forward with Maths, the more apparent it becomes that so many basic concepts are just not taught in schools.
Jacqueline has been quite keen on Maths this week because Woolworths have been having a closing down sale and all Bratz dolls have been half price + another 20% off. Greg has capitalised on that to make her work out the savings!
Catch up soon.
With abundant blessings.
